Interest Rates and Stock Performance

Conventional wisdom tells us rising interest rates are bad for stocks. This assumption has some valid reasoning. First, rising borrowing cost can inhibit corporate growth. In addition, rising interest rates equate to higher discount rates in stock valuation models, and higher discount rates mean lower stock prices (theoretically speaking).
